Knight Property Group Aim High at the Prince’s Trust Annual Fundraiser
James Barrack (MD for Knight Property Group) withGavin

Commercial property firm Knight Property Group helped to accelerate funds raised by this year's Prince's Trust Scotland Clay Pigeon Shoot, which reached a record £204,000.

Over 400 leaders from Scotland's business community participated in this year's event on 10 August 2008 at Tayside's Auchterhouse Country Sports Club.

Knight Property Group came on board - for the third year running - as a corporate sponsor. In addition to financial assistance, Knight Property Group donated a brand new Clio Renaultsport 197 that was included as a raffle prize. This was won by Gavin Christie who owns the Auchterhouse Country Sports Club.

Now in its eighth year, the annual Pigeon Shoot raises funds for the Prince's Trust, which supports over 4,000 disadvantaged young people in developing key skills, confidence and motivation to enable them to move into work, education or training. Youth unemployment costs the UK economy £10 million a day in lost productivity, while youth crime costs £1 billion every year. The Prince's Trust addresses this by giving practical and financial support to the young people who need it most.

The Clay Pigeon Shoot event offers businesses an opportunity to offer financial support and to raise awareness of the valuable work carried out by the Trust all over the UK.

An annual event, it attracts senior executives from firms including CR Smith, Royal Bank of Scotland, RMJM, Tods Murray, Chubb, Hunter Boot Ltd, John Clark Group, Clyde Blowers, and Knight Property Group. Celebrity guests at this year's event included TV chefs Nick Nairn and Tony Allan.

Guests competed against each other to reach the highest scores, and there was a raffle for an exclusive array of coveted prizes ranging from the use of a private jet to a dinner party with bestselling author Alexander McCall Smith.

James Barrack, Chairman and Managing Director for Knight Property Group, said:

"Knight Property Group is proud to be associated with The Prince's Trust. It is a much-needed organisation that provides thousands of young people with unique opportunities to create the life that they want to live. The annual shoot has become a fixture in our diaries and we were delighted to drive fundraising to record levels this year alongside our friends and associates in Scotland's thriving businesses community."

Gerard Eadie, Chairman of CR Smith and Vice Chair of The Prince's Trust in Scotland, organises the event. He said:

"James Barrack and Knight Property Group are great supporters of the Clay Pigeon Shoot and The Prince's Trust. They have always approached the event with the right spirit of fun, competitiveness and generosity."
