Aberdeen commercial property developer Knight Property Group has begun construction work at two of its city developments - Minto Commercial Park in Altens and Kirkhill Commercial Park in Dyce - both for industrial units.
Construction of site five is underway at Minto Commercial Park following the successful development of plots 1, 2, 3 and 4. This speculative build consists of 4,000 sq ft of offices, 11,710 sq feet of warehousing, and a 13,592 sq ft yard. Construction is scheduled for completion in February 2009.
Minto Commercial Park is located in premier business area Altens alongside a number of complexes that are home to major international companies such as Amec, Shell, and Total. This development will see a total of eight units erected on this 11-acre area. Four plots remain in sizes varying from 1.10 acres to 4.05 acres. Denholm Oilfield Services, Active Sustainable Energy System, Modul8 Storage and Interiors, and iicorr have commissioned bespoke units to be built on this site with the remaining plots currently receiving high-levels of interest from potential occupiers.
Construction work at Kirkhill Commercial Park is underway on site 2, which boasts 4,995 sq ft of offices, 13,240 sq ft of warehousing, and a 14,267 sq ft yard. Salient features include a warehouse structure that is capable of incorporating a 10 tonne o/h crane, ample car parking space adjacent to offices and high-specification air conditioning. Construction is scheduled for completion in January 2009.
Kirkhill Commercial Park is located in the heart of Dyce alongside Aberdeen Airport and in close vicinity to a number of blue-chip companies such as BP, Wood Group, Weatherford, Expro Group, Baker Hughes, Kvaerner and Halliburton. Coates Offshore have already secured a bespoke development at Kirkhill Commercial Park's site 1. Knight are soon to release details of a further substantial pre-let on the gateway site, and have 6 acres remaining for development.
Howard Crawshaw, Director for Knight Property Group, said:
"The commercial property market in Aberdeen is still thriving owing to the lack of available space in and around the city and thanks to the buoyant energy sector here. Both Minto and Kirkhill Commercial Parks have attracted widespread interest with all deals to-date being for specially-commissioned units. We decided to add speculative developments to each site in keeping with what is a much-needed and much-coveted product. We have secured interest from a number of potential occupiers looking to capitalise on the excellent transport links and location afforded by each, high-specification development."
