Commercial property developer Knight Real Estate, a Chess Property Group plc company, is embarking on the next phase of its plans for a sigificant new industrial development in East Kilbride. It has submitted a planning application for the speculative development of a number of industrial/warehouse units at Langlands Point. The project is focused on a strategic location within the established Kelvin South and Langlands industrial areas to the south of the city centre and is set to feature units ranging in size from 8,260sq ft to 20,700sq ft. Construction will commence in early 2008 with the first units ready for occupation by the summer. Knight Real Estate Development Director Niall Carlton said "We're confident this development will be well received by companies looking either to buy or lease high quality units in a well-connected location". "The project recognises the fact that East Kilbride has lagged behind other parts of the country in the provision of modern industrial and warehouse facilities. Langlands Point is very much aimed at addressing this lack of supply". Joint marketing agents are Colliers CRE and King Sturge. Ian Davidson from Colliers CRE added: " The units will help to meet the current strong demand for feuhold properties and we're certain they'll prove a very attractive proposition on the market."
